Asha Teens

Asha Teens are

AshaTeens, established in 2015, empowers teens to make a meaningful impact in their communities through volunteerism. At the Princeton Chapter of Asha for Education, teen volunteers passionately lead fundraising events such as Digital Detox and Walk/Run, manage ticket sales, and amplify awareness through social media. They play a vital role in recruiting peers, promoting Asha’s mission, and representing the chapter at public events. With a spirit of selfless dedication, these teens have evolved into a self-organized body that plans and executes initiatives independently, demonstrating leadership, creativity, and a deep commitment to driving positive change through education.

Meet the AshaTeens Board

The AshaTeens Board represents a group of passionate, driven, and community-minded youth leaders who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to Asha for Education’s mission. Elected from among our teen volunteers, these board members lead by example—planning events, coordinating volunteer efforts, and promoting awareness through outreach and social media. Their leadership ensures smooth operations, fosters inclusivity, and inspires peers to take initiative. From organizing fundraisers to mentoring new volunteers, the board plays a pivotal role in shaping the chapter’s success. Each member brings unique strengths, creativity, and a deep sense of purpose in driving meaningful change through education.

Presidents

Siddharth Nori

President and Student Webmaster

Hi! I’m Siddharth, or Sid for short. I’m a rising senior at South Brunswick High School and I’m an aspiring Computer Scientist. I joined Asha as it gave me a chance to educate on a global scale and empower the future. This past year, as co-president and webmaster, I have currently been working on modernizing Asha’s website. In addition, I’ve worked in prepping and designing events, done outreach to prominent community leaders such as South Brunswick Mayor Charles Carley, and much more. In my free time, I enjoy coding and 3d modeling, as well as Model UN and public speaking.

Varsha Velagaleti

President

Hi! My name is Varsha Velagaleti and I am a rising senior at Biotechnology High School. I have been with Asha since 2016, inspired by everyone’s shared motivation to provide children with enriching education. As co-president, I have encouraged all of our volunteers to find their inner strength and discipline through motivational leadership.
Outside of Asha, I enjoy coding, traveling, and listening to music. I also love public speaking and have been expressing this love through Model United Nations for almost three years. I am looking forward to many more events and memories with Asha!
