  • What does virtual run mean?

Virtual Racing is basically like running a race with tons of other people…just not all at the same place. No crowds, no waking up at dawn to find parking and rush to get to the start line on time, no worrying about bad weather at race time. During COVID times, it helps in social distancing.

  • What fitness apps can be used to track the runs?

NikeRunClub, Strava, Map my Run. You can also use your smart watch to register your activity.

  • Why we have a duration of 2 months from October 1st to November 30th?

Some people may prefer a longer duration based on their capacity for the month long fitness challenge. Also, based on the weather conditions, some may prefer October to November. We are giving more flexibility to account for individual preference. Half marathon and full marathon runners may prefer November to October.

  • What is the Four week fitness challenge mean? How do I submit my details once I complete the challenge?

This fitness challenge gives the individual an opportunity to walk/run the selected number of miles a month which is equivalent to a certain number of steps per day with the help of an app to track. The reason for keeping miles a month is to take the stress off of daily counting of steps if one is involved in other activities such as yoga or dancing or other activities that are therapeutic for you. The goal is to complete your committed miles for a month. How you do it is up to you! Asha Princeton is committed to improving your overall health through walk/run without taking time away from your other hobbies and interests.

At the end of the month, you will need to send a screen shot of the total miles that you have walked or ran and send to

  • What is the single day Fun? How do I submit my race details once I complete the run?

The individual will either Walk/run based on the subcategories in one day itself during the months of October or November. You can track your time with an app, take a screenshot of your time and mileage and send to

  • Can I register for more than 1 category?

Yes. If you want to finish your fitness challenge and then run a 5k or a 10k etc, you can do that.

  •  Why do we have so many sub categories?

We have done that to cater to all the different age groups. For example, the 1k can be for the kids who are younger and around 6 –  10 yrs old. Also, the 30 miles per month can be suitable for seniors 60 yrs or older. Everyone should be able to fit in one or more subcategories.

  • Why should I register?

Participating in this event will not only help combat stress and provide you with a fitness goal during these current times, but it will help bring hope to children in India. Participating in this virtual event can keep you fit and help educate underprivileged children in India at the same time.

You can benefit yourself by making this event interesting for yourself by choosing to do it in a beautiful scenic setting such as a national park or beach boardwalk or anywhere amidst nature.

  • Results/Activity

You can submit your results also as per the categories mentioned. If it is for Category 1, you can submit your total miles for the month, if it is for Category 2, you can submit the time taken to complete the walk/run.  At the end of the month take a screen shot of the total miles that you have walked or ran and send to

  • How do I get more information?

You will get periodic emails from motivating you and giving any additional information. You can also click here periodically for more details. Alternatively, you can login to the Facebook event or follow the event page on Instagram.
